Devon based jewellery designer and maker Lucy Behrens has a background in printmaking, but a piece of jewellery she bought inspired her to learn silversmithing and she has been making jewellery ever since. Lucy makes all her work by hand from her Totnes studio, her inspiration comes from the Devon landscape. Balance and composition are integral to each of Lucy’s pieces, she believes in the beauty of simplicity and the joy of the imperfect. She is always looking for new ways to put form and function together and is drawn to delicate textural surfaces and misty matte finishes. Lucy’s pieces that are made mainly in sterling silver with gold items are then very thickly plated in 24ct gold. Her jewellery includes both paired back, minimal designs perfect to wear everyday and bolder, statement pieces, designed to stand out from the crowd.
