Clare O’Neill Artworks

Clare O’Neill is a textile artist living in the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. With a background in studying textile design at art schools in London and Surrey. Clare creates mixed media paintings that showcase her love of nature and wildlife. With these designs she has developed an exclusive giftware range featuring 100% eco considerate greeting cards, stationery and gifts. Taking much of her inspiration from the natural surroundings of where she lives, capturing the seasonal changes and gathering materials from walks on the forest with her daughter and trusty pug, Sniff. A keen collector, Clare surrounds herself with an eclectic mix of items throughout her home which is decorated with objects she loves allowing her to further express her creative side, and this is also reflected in Clare’s work. Intricate layers of newspaper, collage and scripts are all elements returned to repeatedly. Clare’s work has been described as capturing the animal world in a divinely beautiful way.

Folded Forest

Folded Forest is the work of Ruth Viqueira and Sarah Peel. Together they design and make a range of limited-edition prints, cards and homewares from their small studio in West Yorkshire. Inspired by the natural world around them; the rivers and woodlands of their home. Ruth and Sarah try to offer an imagined glimpse into these environments and the lives of the creatures inhabiting them. Think of a badger rustling through the moonlit undergrowth or a hare asleep in a grassy nest, that feeling is captured in their work. Designs begin as handmade paper-cuts or lino cuts adding layers with pen and ink then transferring to screens ready for printing by hand. Screen-printing allows them to carefully choose and layer colours and to print onto all sorts of interesting surfaces; from beautiful papers and soft linen fabric to smooth sturdy plywood. Ruth and Sarah hope to design and make objects that people feel a connection to; objects made with care from high quality materials that will be used, treasured and enjoyed for years to come
